Great report. Had to chuckle when I saw the duct taped pants. My husband and I were doing a loop from Skipper/Portage EP and down through Caribou during the same time as your trip. He split his zip-offs as well. The tear was so large and awkward, it wasn't worth sewing, so I placed a large strip of duct tape on them.

Nice trip. I can relate to the mud thing. Had a few paddlers I've had to coax through.
I hope those other paddlers got their site too. I love how helpful people can be in the BWCA.
