First off in case you haven't been welcomed consider yourself welcomed to the site. Good report, as a fisherman I would have liked a little more details on the fishing, what baits, what depths, you know the usual stuff, but what worked for you may not work for me when we head up that way in a week or so. You did sound like you had good fishing. I like these short close in trips as a shake down foray in lieu of testing new or different gear out for our longer trip to Canada in the fall. Sounds like you will be looking for a different tent for next time, lots of good ideas different people have. Hope to see some pictures when you can post them. FRED

Thanks for sharing, wish I would have hit the fish as well as you did. Looking forward to pictures.

Appreciate the welcome. For smallies we hit rockpiles surrounded by deeper water and threw xraps as jerkbaits. Lost a couple but I didnt feel like switching baits since it was productive. Any rocks near shore didnt produce, but didnt fish them at night. We fished midlake rockpiles at night with a slip bobber and leeches, skimpy "mixed" aka all small to medium leeches from skubes. Kept losing jigs at our walleye spot so it was a slip bobber for us. Really didn't change presentations much, just hopped around looking for different rockpiles. The shallows on the splash side of ensign of the narrows did not hold fish. Ive really grown to like rapalas not worked consistently. Looking forward to trying out zman stuff my buddy just introduced to me. I only wish I had brought some spro barrel swivels for when I casted spoons. New line for this guy.

We came in the day after you, the 5th. Fishing was good the morning after the rain. Found lots of bass against weed beds on rapalas and leeches with a light colored mr twister. We camped at site 11.
