My wife and I just bought a cabin off of white iron lake. We are not on the lake, but do have access where we can also store our kayaks. We have a kestrel 120 but looking for one for myself. While I love the kestrel it is a little to skinny in the feet area for me. It is perfect for my wife. I am 6 feet 200 pounds and have long legs. We will be using our kayaks for daytripping. Anywhere from a few hours to 8 hour out and back trips. Possibly doing some easy river kayaking too. Transportation isn't an issue if we decide to go to another lake or river as we have a trailer. I did sit in a pungo 125 and that was a much better fit for me. I am also looking at either the tsunami 140 or vision 140. I thought the kestrel 120 tracked nicely and I took it out in 14 mph winds without issue in the large part of the lake. I would say my skill level is intermediate. Probably sticking to rotomold so my price range is in the tsunami area but if a pungo fits the bill for what I am doing saving a few bucks is cool too. Thanks for any advice. |
