Well I received my Wetterling 20H Large Hunters axe today. Ordered it last Thursday from Bladematrix and with $10.75 shipping by mail the total came to $77.70. Pretty fast service for the long holiday weekend.

It does have a real nice balance to it. Is going to take more honing, but I expected that. Have to go out after I get her honed up and give it a try.

I have that axe. It is a great all around axe. This was the first good axe I bought. Great choice and you should be able to pass it down to your kids. Make sure you sand the handle and give it several good drinks of boiled linseed oil. My handle started cracking after a year. I would make sure I gave it all the BOL it would take.

Yes the handle came a little "dry". Looks like its been awhile since it was made. The leather needs some attention along with the actual axe head.

Honed her up and went out and tried it for a few whacks on some maple and elm.
Did very good job. I was impressed on that knarly old elm as its nasty stuff.
