I took my own advise and obtained a Helle 4 FjellKniven! Nice knife, light, comfortable to hand and secure in use. Easy to sharpen scandi grind, that takes a razor edge quickly. Laminated stainless over carbon steel, the blade is highly polished and came quite sharp from the factory, but was improved with a few strokes on a 1200 grit diamond bench 'stone'. Size is perfect for camp work and fire building.

The stainless outer-layer will not spark well with a fire-steel, but I keep a separate sparking steel, and do not like to use a knife in that manner. Fairly plain knife and sheath, but well made!

Nice knife! I am still on the fence between the Helle Fjellkniven and the Kellum Wolverine. I want to get Canyon a nice Scandi Knife for Christmas. He seems to be taking over my Bark River Mini Northstar and I want it back.

Butthead,
Is the scandi grind sharpened the same way as a flat ground knife? I have an old Helle that used to be my Grandpa's. Are all Helle's a scandi grind?
