Trip Introduction:
Annual Family Fishing Trip

Report

6 people. 3 canoes. 416 rods portaging. 3 miles paddling. Countless memories.

We took our annual family fishing trip to the BWCA this year and per usual we tried a new entry point. The portages were wet from recent rain and had a few blow downs, but were very manageable. The fishing on Good Lake and Basswood Lake was fantastic. The Pike and Bass were hitting everything. The average Pike was between 24-27" and the largest was over 32". Walleye were harder to catch but we managed a few.

We stayed at campsite 2048. The camp was beautiful and had a nice sandy beach. We were slightly disappointed upon arrival as the previous tenants left lots of garbage (including multiple hooks laying partially buried in the ground) around camp, and had tossed all their fish about 25 feet from the fire grate. Thankfully, we got it cleaned up and had an absolute blast!
