Last Day. I quickly look over the map and we decide to paddle the long way around and troll our way back to Prairie Portage instead of the shorter way taking the portages to Burke and then to Bayley Bay. We are supposed to meet our tow at Prairie Portage at 1:00. I think this will be a leasurely paddle---it only started that way.

Early in the morning an Eagle was perched above our site looking for fish.

As we leave our last camp, a Loon comes along to say goodbye.

We troll for Lakers in North Bay and catch a few. The fish are biting well today. As we enter the narrows south of North Bay we find a school of nice walleyes.

Just when I thought the fishing couldn't get any better I snag. Dang it! We head back over where I snagged my crankbait and I try to free it when something pulls back so hard it about pulled the rod out of my hand. I guess I wasn't snagged.......

After letting that 39 incher go I notice we are barely out of North Bay and we only have 3 hours to meet our tow. The fishing was just too tempting so we put our poles away so we would not be tempted anymore. We need to get moving, I am wondering if we be able to make it on time. We push hard, but we end up being about 45' late. Luckily the tow driver thought he had the time wrong and had come back to check for us just as we crossed the portage. He earned a big tip for his trouble. We say goodbye to Canada.

Minus the minor trouble we had with ruder campers at Louisa Falls this was probably one of my favorite trips to Quetico. We had almost perfect weather, we moved everyday (Never done that before) and camped at 7 different camp sites. After enduring rain storms and fire bans the last few years we were able to enjoy campfires every single night. I almost forgot how much fun that was. AND the fishing although we did not spend alot of time fishing it was fantastic as well.

Another great trip has to end...... Until next year.
