Today it was time to head home. We had a tow scheduled to pick us up at Hook Island at 4pm. With the great weather, we took our time and relished our last moments in Quetico.

Deadman's Portage was up first today followed by an enjoyable paddle back across Saganagons to the Silver Falls portage. Silver Falls still impresses me. The power and the noise is overwhelming, yet beautiful.

Below is the crew. This was our third time to Quetico and we always pose for a picture after completing the Silver Falls portgage on the way out. It is a nice tradition. We look pretty rugged after a week in the wilderness together.

The wind remains absent and our paddle across Cache Bay and Saganaga is a piece of cake. I have never seen this lake so calm before, especially twice on the same trip. It was literally a sheet of glass. Jeff and I troll very slowly and deeply on the way back to Hook Island hoping to find a lake trout. Sure enough, Jeff catches one at about the same spot on Cache Bay as I caught one in May. This completes the grand slam for him. It was a fitting ending to a fabulous trip. Now the rest of us get to listen to him gloat until our next trip!

We arrive at Hook Island and wait for the tow. The crew at Seagull is running ahead of schedule and they pick us up 30 minutes early. They certainly run a top notch outfit. Great gear and great service. The fishing spots and tips were very much appreciated. I would recommend Debbie and Dave at Seagull Outfitters to anyone.

Kahnipiminanikok is truly a special place. The fishing is incredible and the scenery is breathtaking. The journey up the Falls Chain is equally incredible. We are very fortunate to have been there twice. Hopefully we left her without a trace and she will welcome us again someday.
