Fall Lake to Basswood and back
by MplsKcid
We continued up into Pipestone and got to just south of Caribou point before I asked my cousin if he had grabbed the leaches from the last portage, we made a quick backtrack to the portage to retrieve our bait and the family that we had passed on our first portage was just arriving, we waved farewell and were off ...again. Pipestone was fairly easy as we had a slight wind at our back and just a beautiful day ahead. Our last portage was a little trickier to find as it seemed less used that the others but it was also the shortest so that was much appreciated. We had just another short run to the campsite we had been heading to in Back Bay. It was now later in the afternoon possibly close to 5 (none of us had a watch) so we quickly made camp gathered some firewood and cooked up some brats and rice&beans. All of us were just exhausted after dinner so we drank some whiskey and enjoyed the fire till the mosquitoes got too annoying, then headed in for the night.
