We decided to stay at our current site and day trip to nearby fishing areas. I could not get my companion to return to the scene of the bear encounter to see about retrieving what might be left of my gear. We headed out fishing in the morning, found some shallow bays nearby that had good bass and pike fishing. The wind started to pick up around noon and kept us at the campsite for most of the afternoon. Towards evening, the wind started to subside and we were able to head out fishing again for a few hours.
