Day 7 of 7
Wednesday, August 17, 2011 Alpine lake, Seagull lake We broke camp early the winds continued best guess around sustained 30mph. I shot the stream jack walked the portage going into seagull, fun lil stream it was. We took off across seagull and the waves grew quickly we stayed close to shore in case we were to swamp. Seagull was fun riding the waves with the canoe it was by far the biggest I had taken on with the canoe. We were in no time across the lake. We seen one group consisting of three guys heading out from the protected islands we waved they waved and we sat and watched from the calm water while we drank some water and took a breather. They paddled for 15 min and made it no more the 75 yards, we took off and headed back for our entry/exit. We seen a cub swimming across the inlet/outlet bay, 1st bear of the trip. A mile down the road seen a moose and her baby in a swamp. North of Duluth 20-30 mile seen a big Wolf cross the road. Had a great trip overall. I would of had some great pictures but my trail camera overwrote my sd card with all my trip pictures on it.
