Woke up to another picturesque morning. Jody was up stirring around camp. He had coffee made…what a guy.. . Quick breakfast of instant oatmeal and we were back out on the water. We decided to fish a reef that was fairly close to camp. Today the fish were deep in the rocks. Casting artificial didn’t seem to be the answer. We resorted to slowly trolling jigs and twister tails and this method worked well. We worked the magic 14 foot areas of the reef and caught quality fish. We had a double again, this was fun!!!! Again all the fish seemed to be in the 20 to 25 inch category. I did manage to pull a nice 27 inch walleye out of the rock strung area. This place was a snag magnet--if we got snagged once we got snagged 100 times, but if you weren’t in the rocks you weren’t in the fish. We decided to go in for lunch. We dined on peanut butter and power bars. Jody decided he needed a bath, and I spent time writing in my journal. We then went out in the afternoon to catch a few more fish in the same area as this morning. Again, twister tails were the answer. As we left this area and headed back to camp we noticed a peculiar sight. There on a large rock immediately to our right was an older gentleman standing buck ass naked enjoying the afternoon sun. We gave a gentle wave, and he continued his sun worshiping. We headed in for an early dinner of chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and corn. Awesome…. We headed out fishing again after dinner. Not much luck on this excursion, but the weather was beautiful, the water like glass, and no bugs. What a magical night to be on the water. Went in about dark, started a fire and enjoyed the night sky.
