Saturday, June 25, Johnna woke up with a big bug bite under her eye and she was not happy about it
Left Veron the way we came in back over the portages to Camel. Then we turned to the east and followed Cutty creek to Eag. All the rain made this a easy trip. We encountered 2 large all male scout groups in aluminum canoes in Eag. There was a little canuding going on in our boat so the encounters put an end to our feeling of solitude. North from Eag into McDougall I had the best fishing of the trip. As soon as I started paddling I had another fish. The girls were sunbathing and reading "Farewell to Arms" all day.
We tried to find the portage from McDougall directly into Keats but could not find it. So we went to split rock falls and got to Keats. We camped at the narrows and had a great evening with a fish fry and great morning with a fish fry
