Kings (and Queen) Of Kawnipi
by NorthwoodsHeaven
After a long (way too long…. Sorry mom) and delicious breakfast we headed back towards our fishing spot. No change in luck. We caught walleye and big bass all day. After a couple hours we pulled onto a nearby point and had one of the most delicious walleye shore lunches I have had. Panko crusted walleye fried in coconut oil with quinoa side dish. Oh my. I don’t know how many we caught this day. It just felt like someone at all times was reeling in a walleye. The only disappointing thing about this trip was we didn’t catch any trophy walleye or northern. We caught a lot of really good size fish (24-25 inch walleye and 31 inch northern) but nothing bigger. We did catch multiple monster bass. After a paddle home we enjoyed our last night on our Kawnipi campsite. It was going to be tough to leave this one. We all agreed it was the best campsite we had ever stayed on. I will definitely be returning.
