We spent a couple hours in the morning swimming in the pool, and then we were on our way to meet Mom and Dad in Iowa. Traveling through the St. Paul area we saw the dome of the Minnesota State Capitol building.

We did a stretch break at Cabela’s in Owatonna. Grandma thought Robert would enjoy seeing the animal displays there, but come to find out he had just visited a Cabela’s recently, so it wasn’t too much of a treat. But that was OK, because we needed to stretch our legs anyway.

And then we were meeting Mom and Dad at Panera Bread in Ankeny, Iowa, for a treat and lots of hugs! It was Father’s Day, so Grandma took a picture of her “three guys” all together.

Grandma and Grandpa headed their car east towards Michigan and Robert’s family were on their way west to Nebraska. Everyone agreed that Robert’s Minnesota vacation was a huge success! Vacations are times for making memories, and we had certainly made lots of good ones together.
