Day 11 of 13
Day 10 Thursday, August 15
They day dawned clear and still. I baked up a cinnamon coffee cake to go with the morning hot drinks.
Tony and I chose to paddle down Louisa Lake looking for fish but got no bites and only saw minnows. It was however a perfect day otherwise in that it was sunny and warm with the wind showing up only occasionally as a slight breeze to cool the sweat off your neck. Louisa Lake is very a beautiful, sandy and clear lake with a few rocks here and there. We went for an afternoon bath and a swim and paddled back to camp. Mark reports that the fish finder shows fish stacked up deep at 50, 75, and 100 feet right off camp but they sure aren’t interested in biting. Mark, Ryan, and Tony decide to spend a sooty, sweaty couple of hours rebuilding the camp’s fireplace and we christen it with our second pizza dinner. (Sun-dried tomato pesto on the menu.) A wonderful day :)
