Day 7, Monday August 12

I awoke at 430am to the pitter-patter of rain on my face and we quickly pulled the fly without even leaving the sleeping bags. I love quick clips! We drifted back to sleep while the wolves howled in the distance. We made blueberry pancakes for breakfast, complete with Ryan's blueberry syrup, and after clean-up and a little stove repair by the chief mechanic.

Tony and I packed up and spent the day fishing. It fishing was pretty thin and we only caught eight bass, keeping three for dinner.
Tony spent most of the day catching rocks and logs. It was uncanningly disturbing but that’s how it goes sometimes. Mark and Ryan collected more berries. Zach took a four hour nap and then paddled around for more wood. Sammy diligently read her EMT textbook for an upcoming class. Judy entertained herself with laundry, food sorting, and other camp chores. Tony and I got back around 430. I went for a swim while he filleted the fishies. It was fish with garlic couscous for dinner. Mark and Judy baked a blueberry cobbler to share for dessert. Cigars, a sip of Scotch, and more wood smoke preceded bedtime. Still No Bugs!
