Saturday, August 24, 2019 Did some fishing, relaxed. About the middle of the morning I saw our leach locker had been unscrewed by the wind and the bottom half was floating away with leaches swimming all over. So I yelled at Captn Carp to help me launch the canoe and we paddled about 25 yards out and rescued my leaches. By that time I had lost about 2/3rds of the leaches. I got back I was questioned why I didn't just wade out and get them, it would have taken about half the time. Duh I didn't really didn't have a good answer. Later on we were sitting around and I decided if I'm going to sit I just as well throw out a slip bobber with a leach, as soon as the leach hit the water I got a nice bass, unhooked him bam immediate hit again. Didn't take long for everyone to rig up and we caught a nice mess of bass for supper plus threw a bunch back. I wonder if the lost leaches ended up being chum. Went out for eyes after supper and only caught one again.
