Quetico Solo w dog McIntyre Woodside and Sunday Lakes

To the left of the big dome of rock is the perfect landing beach of flat smooth rock. From here I’ll toss a tennis ball for Luna in the water. She loves to swim and get it. We also have so much grassy area here that we play frisbee. But the best feature for me is that front porch overlooking the lake. What a view from maybe 10 feet above the water. The sun will set a little off to the right.
On day two here we explore the island - there’s another campsite on the far end - and then go swimming. I can’t fish yet as my eight day license won’t start till the next day. We see bald eagles and a few crazy red squirrels chasing and racing around our camp. They also like to drop pine cones from the trees so we hear soft “thuds” every now and then.
It’s cloudy both days but only rains one early morning as I still lay in the tent. I hear something strange to my ears. The thunder would go on and on for what seemed like 30 seconds. It just kept rumbling. I can’t figure this one out. It had to be frequent strikes with echo and to me it sounded like one long thunder. Very cool.
