Quetico 2016
by rdricker
Day four greeted us with yet another nice day in the interior of Quetico. We made our way through Conk Lake and up into Quetico Lake for our long paddle west. A decent east wind allowed us the opportunity to buddy up the three canoes and stretch out our rain fly between a pair of paddles for some nice sailing. We managed to sail for about five miles down the length of Quetico Lake making a good pace. We arrived into camp 3P on Eden Island early in the afternoon. This campsite would normally be considered only average, but the large landing beach gives it a boost in the ratings. It looked like some people beach camp here, but the actual campsite is up in the woods on the north end of the beach. The campsite is closed off by trees, so although moderately sized, it is limited in breeze exposure for bug control. The early arrival allowed for some fishing time, swim time and just plain relaxation time.
