Day 27 of 28
Wednesday, July 18, 2018 - 7th Day of the drive home – Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana
The highlight of the day was visiting Pipestone National Monument in Pipestone Minnesota. This was especially cool for us as Joey’s Boy Scout Troop attends 7 Ranges BSA camp that has a camp honors program that is called “Pipestone”. Chris, Joey, and I have all participated in this ceremony. It is truly an incredible event that one will never forget. After Joey earned his “5th Year Pipestone” award , he has continued to be active as a volunteer to help with the ceremony. While touring the museum, we met the family that actually mines the pipestone that is used by 7 Ranges BSA camp.
We stopped at another YMCA in Madison Wisconsin for a workout and showers, then had dinner at Hooter’s in Rockford, Illinois.
We put in another long day of driving and slept in the parking lot at Cabela’s in Hammond, Indiana.
