Relaxing at Rockwood Volume 5

Grandchildren are a beautiful blessing. Perhaps the best thing about being in one's "golden years." We are especially thankful that our two children (and their spouses) feel secure enough with us that we are allowed a special one-on-one vacation every summer with their only child. Blessings.
We enjoyed a wonderfully fun and interesting vacation with our thirteen-year-old grandson on Michigan's Keweenau Peninsula this July. And then we capped off our season with this memorable time with Anna. Blessings.
Making memories. That's what it's all about. This Minnesota vacation, from our home in Michigan and back again, put 2050 miles on our car, and at least that many smiles in our memory banks. Blessings.
Each of the grandchildren receives a memory book that I end up taking about a week + to assemble on Snapfish. It is truly a labor of love, and it contains many more photos (believe it or not) than what are included here. I don't know if they truly appreciate it now, but I think when we are gone and they can share these memories of time with Grandpa and Grandma with their own children and grandchildren, they will realize what a blessing these times were for them, too.
It wasn't a wilderness trip. It wasn't even a real "adventure." But what it was is a blessing.
