Not much to report on this day. We slept in until about 6:50 and then got up, had a quick Mountain House meal, and broke camp. We used snow anchors to set up the guy lines that held the tent in place. They worked so well that it was a lot of work to remove them! We were on the trail by 8:15 AM or so. The portage again was so beautiful. It was much easier going this direction and we saw some beautiful birds that were not scared of us at all! Rachel went sledding on her pulk sled on one of the steeper down hills! The hike across Snowbank was once again pretty and uneventful. Luna, true to her Shepherding ways, raced back and forth between Rachel and I to ensure that her "pack" was all together.

We had a great trip and can't wait until we are up there next. Winter camping is always hard work, but so enjoyable to be out in the harshest of conditions and find beauty and happiness living within it. It might be a little bit since we are having a little one in June, but Knife Lake, here we come!
