We started the day heading southwest along the north arm of Quetico Lake. This took us past three pictograph sites, and we were able to find all three.
The third site was pretty small, but we were glad to find it since we had looked and failed to find it on a previous trip. It was good to commune with fellow travelers of this magnificent land from centuries past.

We then headed north, portaged into Cirrus Lake, headed west a ways and started to look for a campsite.
After looking on both the south and north shores of the lake, we settled on a small site on the mainland of the north shore.
An astute observer of the photos in this trip report will notice the change in the sky in the last two photos from those before. The sky went from blue to overcast. We had had a brilliant run of rainless days, but now the weather was changing. It did indeed rain that night, the first rain of the trip. It was very good luck on our part as the weather forecasts in Atikokan the week before and after our trip had substantial chance of rain most days.
