Paul, Mitch, Chris and I entered the Boundary Waters at Wood Lake on Sept. 23, 2023 and stayed for 8 nights. We spent 2 nights on Wood Lake, then 2 nights on Good Lake, 2 nights on Basswood Lake then the last 2 nights back to a different site on Wood Lake. This was my first time camping on Basswood Lake since 1985. While there was a lot to like about our campsite and Basswood Lake in general, the fact that motorboats were allowed was not one of them. We had some rain on 4 days, wind of an easterly component every day and the sky was grey and mostly overcast every day except for 2. The typical high temperature was in the upper 60s and the lows were in the lower 50s.... warm for a fall trip! The guys did very well fishing... we had several nice fish fries!
