All four of us get up before 5 AM in order to try to catch fish for breakfast. We actually prefer to have fish in the morning, you can always count on catching them early and sometimes its a rush to filet them, cook em up, and clean up before it gets dark. And, they make a good protein supplement for energy. We dont paddle far, just around our island campsite and in no time we have a walleye and a bass that soon with be in the frying pan. We keep the fish the women catch, its so much fun to watch them reel them in knowing that they caught breakfast. It may sound strange to some people, but fresh fish with cajun seasoning and oatmeal go really well together.

With no plans on moving today, it becomes a day of relaxing in the hammocks, reading and chasing away the red squirrels. They could be the most brazen ones we have ever encountered. If you put a granola bar down for more than a minute, they are on it. But, they are cute and friendly. A snake is sunning itself on the rocks by the water, being about as lazy as we are today.

We have dehydrated chili and cornbread for dinner and then head back out to fish once more. My wife outfishes me this evening, and I'm quite ok with that. Remember, she likes catching, not fishing! Stayed out until the sun went down then turned in for the night. Once again, we saw nobody today in our little private bay.
