Hey Dave. Thanks for a nice trip report. You are correct about the first day being rough. My buddy Drew and I entered through Brant on July 27th. We also were pretty beat by the time we got to Gillis. I never knew there was a boardwalk on West Round. The water was so high when we were there that we just put in and paddled through the rushes. I also concur with the Flying to Green portage feeling much longer than 70 rods. That was pretty brutal.
We caught some nice trout in the western most bay on Gillis as well as on Gabi along the north shore by the portage to Agamok.
We also stayed on Little Sag as well as Tuscarora (more trout caught here) and exiting via Missing Link. I will have a trip report on our trip posted soon(I hope).

Great, detailed report! Thanks! I think it's awesome that you and your wife do canoe trips together. I've been trying to talk my wife into going on her first one for almost 20 years now!

Thanks for the report and pictures, DaveO. We were on Little Sag a week and a half ago for 2 days and were the only people there. We came up from the south from Kawishiwi Lake. One portage was partially flooded. Little Sag is a beautiful lake. We stayed at the campsite on the peninsula to the west that you mentioned. We went out through Mora and down to Sawbill. I agree that the Little Sag/Mora portage is gorgeous and the lake is very nice too. Several of the lakes after that were very nice lakes too, but the portages were tough that way too. It sounds like you and your wife enjoyed your trip and stay on Little Sag.
