Heading to Saganagons next week. Wondering if anyone has any insight on how Dead Man's Portage is looking from a water level perspective.

Also any fishing tips for June would be greatly appreciated! Targeting Boundary Point area.

Water level on Saganagons last week was about a foot lower than last year. We did not cross Deadman's Portage. There was only a little rain last week and our exit on Dickie's Portage was fairly dry.

We stayed near Boundary Point and found the fishing to be improving by the end of the week. The water is warming up and fish (walleyes) are scattered with no action at the shoreline and most fish caught in the 7' to 14' range. Small body jigs worked best early in the week as the fish seemed timid and reluctant to bite. On our last day, fish were hitting big body jigs hard and gulping it down.

Where are you planning to camp?

Right Boundary Point I think some call it the Bonsai Campsite.

We were planning on bringing jigs of all sizes. Any specific spots we should try that you had success at? Any color jigs that seem to work well?

1/4 ounce worked best. We started with large white twister tails (4-5") but found smaller paddle tail bodies worked better. Then later, back to larger bodies. These worked best. Chartreuse or black jig heads.

They have closed the east end of Saganagons from BP east. Some kind of police search going on.

My friend and his sons were fishing and got caught in the storm on Wednesday afternoon. 1 of the sons is still missing. Please pray for him to be found.
