It was a struggle for a lifetime fisherman to not bring the gear but I survived. Next time I will fish.

Excellent report! Cherokee is a beauty of a lake!
A buddy of mine just got back and said the bugs were non-existant. He too saw moose so that is a very good sign for the moose population in the BW.
Thanks for bringing us along!
10 more days until my trip starts!

Nice report. The moose alone would have made for a great trip.

Great report. I did not even notice you didn't fish until you said something at the end. Each trip can have different goals.

Very enjoyable! Great moose. Kind of surprising you got a hole in your canoe, because while they aren't indestructible they are pretty tough (I've been rough on mine) and can usually take the rocks in flat water. I don't bring a repair kit other than duct tape, but maybe I should.

Great report! I, too, love that route. I've stayed on many of the campsites you did. The island site on Cherokee is a gem and the one on Sawbill has fantastic sunsets.
Thanks.
