What a great trip report! We have been on those lakes, but have never taken that route to Johnson Falls (have never gone on the Canoe to Pine portage--always approached Pine from Caribou.)
Sounds like you had a good time and gained some good experience. Have fun planning the next trip!
I wish you had posted some photos. ;-)

Enjoyed your trip report - how fantastic to see a wolf! That's something most of us will never experience. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story.
Glad to hear you had an enjoyable time on your first trip. I'd say just seeing the wolf would've made the trip a memorable one for me. Hope you have many more.

Sounds like everything was pretty much perfect! Really unique wolf sighting. Wonder what it was up to?
How do you like vegan marshmallows? I've wanted to try them.

The vegan marshmallows, while smaller in size, match up pretty well to the regular marshmallows. We were able to roast them until perfectly browned with gooey insides. :)
