Thanks! That was a lot of fun. Especially on a cool rainy night at the end of January. Loved the vid.

Also I'm sorry that there are no pictures I got a brand new Gopro camera and documented the trip on that.

So below is the link to the footage from the videos I took from our trip. Its my first editing video job so its not that amazing but i like how it turned out.

Nice report AND video. We stayed at that campsite on Horseshoe two different times when our favored sites were taken. We also found it to be a nicer campsite than you would think. There used to be an eagle's nest in that bay. As I recall there were a couple spots just full of tiny northerns, which I figured was an attraction to the eagles?

Thanks for sharing the report!

It was great seeing a bunch of young folks enjoying themselves so much. Very nice trip report and the video was great...but I would have enjoyed hearing some of you actually talk, that must have been some interesting chatter in the tent when you were playing hearts. I did enjoy the music but talking would have been nice. I did notice a lot of bare feet around camp, lots of things to cut feet up, just saying. Noticed no life jackets on, not he law but a good idea. I recall you saying you were fishing from shore and rigged a second pole, you can only use one pole in Minnesota's during the soft water season. Nice to see you let someone else fight that 25 inch walleye but that would have made some great footage, to dark would be my guess. Looks like your canoes were loaded very well, loads low, and not loose stuff scattered in the canoes. Looked like you guys got some good female Sherpas there better hang on to them. (Only an 18 inch smally] that is a pretty darn nice fish. I don't know who taught you your canoeing and camping skills but they did a right good job, nice clean organized campsites. Welcome to the board and hopefully will hear from you and your crew many more times. Looks like a fun crew. FRED

Thanks everyone for the feedback it was a great trip.

As for the video I did think about having more of us talking but the problem was i didn't have a mount for my camera so i just held it which kinda muffles the sound and makes really annoying noise even when i move my finger the slightest so thats why I didn't include more of us talking but in the future I definitely will.

As for bare feet i grew up being outdoors and walking all over bare foot so I'm pretty used to it and my feet are pretty caloused but I suppose it is probably better to be safe then sorry. And as for life jackets I never wear mine unless its windy/ wavy. 3 out of the 6 on the trip are trained life guards and I've never capsized but again probably smart to be cautious I suppose.

Also I wasn't the only one fishing from shore, I set up the poles but other people were around and we had 4 people with licences so I didn't see that as a problem at all.

I thought about taking that trip with my daughter 2 years ago and your report makes me think it might be a good idea to consider it again.

Definitely one of the best places to do that. Theres just something about being outdoors in the middle of nowhere and connecting with God and just feeling His presence. One of the many reasons I love the boundary waters!

Watched your video and loved it. The site on Omega is one of my favorites for the spectacular view of the lake. Thanks for sharing.

Nice report and shanks for sharing. I've been to the area a few times and and love it. We passed through Omega on a daytrip about 7/8 years ago and every time I see a report and/or shots from there it makes me want to get back to that lake and camp on it. Maybe I'll get back there this year.

Thanks Grier, Yeah it is definitely a blast up there. It was a great trip like always but in June you should not struggle to catch fish like we did. I've had trips where I've caught 50+ fish in one day. I wonder if we just had some weird weather or something but it was super stable so I'm not sure.

I loved your report, you pretty much summed up what it is all about! I'm freezing in Feb and keep dreaming about my next trip. I'm just starting to learn to fish. You said you wouldn't claim to be a great fisherman and it wasn't a successful year, but I counted 30-some plus fish in your report. I'd give anything to catch that many.. Ha! Glory be to God, and thanks for sharing.

Thank you for a very nice report and the video. I wish you continued success in all your future BWCA trips. Keep at it and live the dream. I spent quite a bit of time in the BWCA and Quetico when I was in high school and college, and then was gone for 25 years. Keep the dream alive and keep introducing others to the Lord's creation. Happy Paddling!!!

@heavy canoe

Yeah it was definitely a really nice area. Horseshoe and caribou were a little busy but after that it thinned out. Winchell and Omega are both really beautiful lakes. I've heard Vista is great too but didn't make it down there.
