What a fun report to read. Awesome family memories!!! Congrats on making them.

Good for you for letting the boys have so much fun and doing stuff wife enjoyed as well. You can tell from reading this report though, that Dad was having the best time of all!

Sounds like you are perfect for the kids and they are perfect for you. Thank you for your service to our country and sorry to hear about your guys. Take care of yourself so you can continue to give those boys the great life you and your wife are giving them.

Thanks for the pics. I love pics of kids enjoying the outdoors.

Great job, Dad!
I hope my kids have as much fun with it someday, too. Good to see a family out there enjoying it!

Hope your trip is a success. thanks for all the tips and help - Kids and self have benefited greatly. My oldest son has improved greatly since we adopted him. He slept better on this trip than any-other time in his life - not one nightmare!! He slept in till 9 one morning. Wife and I did not know what to think. He is planning next years trip. Not to mention they have helped me - I have started going back to the VA and following through with my rehab - even scheduled to have some annoying shrapnel removed from back of head. Need to take care of self so they can continue to grow and enjoy. Life really is good. Plus I owe it to the guys I lost to show my kids the beauty of our great country.

Thanks for the report and for your great service to our country. The North Woods has a lot of healing powers and also has a way of drawing families closer together.

Yes! the kids do know what they like ;) On our daddy/daughter trips one of the rules is that they get to make the decisions about what/when/where we do unless I need to trump their decision for safety reasons and I've only had to do that once.

I'm excited about the walleye fishing and it doesn't matter to her how big they are. We are hoping the campsite with the beast is open when we get there. It's almost time to start organizing and packing gear!

AWESOME!!!! I've been anxiously waiting for your report. Sounds like we have some more kids "hooked" ;). I'm looking forward to the Croc pics getting added.

Yes, Caribou Rock Trail is a doozy. When we did it with the kids at 8 and 6 we only went to the Moss Lake overlooks and back. That West Bearskin overlook is amazing isn't it!!! Last summer my wife and I went all the way to the Rose Falls/Stairway Portage and back without the kids and it took us 7 hours. We were exhausted and very glad to have the Sawyer Mini Filter in the pack because we went through a lot of water.

I'll be on Croc w/ my 11 yo duckling in a few weeks. She's pumped for some walleye.

I will get the pics from crocodile lake up as soon as possible. It was a great choice for the kids first trip. No people, pretty lake, and easy fishing. I was amazed with the amount of walleye caught. Kids enjoy small walleyes as much as the big ones. Would love to do the whole caribou rock trail and Moss lake would have been the wise choice to turn around with the kids. It is lots of paddling if you don't camp in the narrows, but it worked out great and kids do know what they like.
