Nice trip report. Sorry about your camera gear, but kudos to you for putting it behind you and still having a good trip. Quick question, what did you use to catch walleye from shore? Live bait? Lure?

Was fishing with a jig and a leech under a slip bobber, about 7-8 feet deep. Not sure of the exact weight of the jig or size of the hook--just heavy enough to get the bait down and big enough to hook the big ones. Colors were yellow, orange and pink. This was good for both wallies and smallies right from shore.

This presentation (sometimes with nightcrawlers) is pretty much my go-to method of fishing and works well for me. It's just about all I do unless I'm casting for northerns. Then I tie on a steel leader of about 6-8 inches and clip on a spinner, rapala minnow or spoon. My favorite is a red/white daredevil. That's what got this fish one day a couple of years ago
