Nice report and photos. Thanks for sharing. I do a daddy/daughter trip each year and I also hope to do them for many years. Hmmmm I wonder if they'll be bringing a boyfriend one day.

Your route is on the short list of possible routes for my solo next year.

Thanks for sharing your report and photos. Bummer about the rain, but looks like spirits stayed up. I do like that route, and hope for better weather and fishing on consecutive trip #19.

Thanks. My daughter did make the trip for 4 consecutive years, then opted out. Not for her anymore. Anytime your child brings their significant other, it's fabulous. Nothing like the BWCA for a week to test a relationship and deal with adversity. Rain is just one of the treats!

Never found a lemon in the BW, never heard of it either. You could be the first!

Nice report, we're thinking of that area for a trip next year.

How long was it from Sawbill to Cherokee? Just looking for general ideas to get our bearings. And the same on our way out if you could.

Finding the portage to Cherokee Creek took a bit longer than we would have liked. Those swampy areas change quickly with beaver activity. We left Sawbill @ 10:30 ish...and set up camp on Cherokee by 4 PM - so 5 1/2 hours without stopping. That includes one person double portaging.
