I've always wanted to run this trail. I remember it was highlighted in a running magazine several years ago.

I will have to do this as I have done most of the Minnesota Marathons -Twin cities, Grandmas, Moose Mountain(Superior Hiking Trail).
Thanks!
Any full Marathons in the BWCA?

The further north I go, the warmer I feel.

In the BWCA, no. The Ely Marathon runs along the roads with the BWCA on both sides, it's a great marathon. And of course there's a lot of trail races of marathon+ length over on the Superior Hiking Trail.

But if you mean "marathon" in the spirit of the OP's trip report, you could certainly run 26.2 miles on the Sioux-Hustler Trail, the Border Route Trail, the Pow Wow Trail, the Kekekabic, probably others too. Or you could just run two loops of the Angleworm Trail.

I love the Angleworm trail. I have run it a few times in the past few summers. It has also been in very good shape. Very few blowdowns compared to other trails. Also... you get to run across a beaver dam.

I think the Snowbank trail loop would be close to a full marathon. I have tried to find the time to run that but I have been rebuffed by reports of lots of downed trees. I think it would be a great run however.
