"...baking cakes, cornbread, and apple pie in the reflector oven...." and no bugs bugging you? Heaven.

I enjoyed the critter shots, so thanks for those.

I will paddle eternal, Kevlar and carbon.

Nice report, Elden. Thanks for taking the time to do this write-up. The food was amazing! We were spoiled with the desserts in the reflector oven (photo below of the chef at work). A fantastic, well-organized trip. The people on the trip were super human-beings, and it made the journey satisfying and rich.

I always manage to be bug fodder, even when others are not bothered. Standing by my claim that I am an unusually sweet person. : ) The permethrin definitely helped-it was the first time I have used it.

Other BW trips, I've gone out of Sawbill area, so this was my first time in Ely & my first time at VNO (after hearing so much about it on the boards). I was very excited to be there. Also, the Dorothy museum was inspiring! I slept better in the bunkhouse at VNO than I have at home for a long time.

Watching the dragonfly emerge was a fantastic experience. We hit the time of year perfect for emergences.

A couple more pixies below.

Great report, sounds like you had an awesome trip. We were on the South Kawishiwi as well the week of 6/24 and saw the dragonflies take flight, quite an experience! I hope to get my trip report together over the long upcoming weekend.
