I thoroughly enjoyed reading this trip report! Even hopped on Maps to follow along. Great photos as well!

I enjoyed your report--especially the otter photo! I have never had good luck trying to capture otters on camera, so I am envious.

Sounds like you and Lou had a good time, a good adventure. Thanks for sharing.

It's thrilling to hook a big pike when you're solo.

I will paddle eternal, Kevlar and carbon.

Great report! One of my favorites I've read this year. My first ever trip in the park was identical to yours except when you turned out of Jackfish Bay we kept going SW to the tip and then back out Via Sandpit and Mudro to finish our loop.

We also paddled past the first landing for the long portage around the upper falls and barely made it up that narrows you mentioned. (but did cut off a lot of walking!) We also stayed at the trigger site on Gun, liked the Mudro-Fourtown portages...

Love the otter picture, and your thoughts are similar to mine for the whole trip pretty much. Pictos, fishing up there, etc.

Otters, moose, wolf, falls, big fish.....heck of a trip and you picked a good route!

Thanks for the report. It was a nice read. Always interesting reading about areas I haven't been.

Love doing that route in several directions. Also love going from Fall Lake and out Nina Moose. 10 days is a good time for that.

Thanks for the report. I had considered this route as part of a loop to Horse, Tin Can, Sandpit and back to EP 23. Nice details on current conditions.

Great report!
We are headed to Mudro in a month and will do a similar route except we will go out Sandpit to Basswood lake and then down the river to Crooked and all the way to Curtain Falls and then back track to Friday Bay and back to Mudro.
