You really put the miles in for your SO's first trip! If she wasn't deterred by the distance or the bugs, she's hooked for life now. Great job! Love that area, headed to Mudro with one returning, and one new family in August.

Sounds like she's a keeper :) Great attitude and willingness to try new experiences.

Thanks for the write up. It was a great trip if your SO wants to go back.

I am interested in what kind of pulled pork you took with? Sounds like it survived the hot weather with no refrigeration.

Did you bring your food barrel for this trip?

It was a product that was sealed in pouches like the single serve tuna or chicken packs. We did not bring a barrel.

Nice report, especially the photos. I'd like to think you simply know your SO very well because my first time taking my wife we went to Lake One lol. Adventure, and getting out of your comfort zone, is what it's all about though.

Nice report! I took my now-wife on her first trip on just about the same loop. (we did the Jackfish Bay/Upper Falls version) We also stayed on the island at Friday Bay. That long portage to Gun is no joke, and the water there is like no other lake on that route. (we also had our worst fishing of the trip on that lake)

Good to hear she's ready for another trip! My wife looks at our wall map that we've drawn on....and that loop as her first trip is a pretty good chunk. She's glad she went on 5 more since then

The one thing I remember about that long portage to Gun was it seemed all up hill except the last 50 yards. LOL

That was my first ever trip except we cut through Moosecamp lake and went down the river.

It was super hot that year too.
