Thanks for the report. I haven't been in the number lakes yet. My toes always get cold too. Caution with the cold weather and cold water is using your noodle.

I enjoyed your trip report, Noodle. Sounds like an enjoyable trip. Thanks for sharing.
I know what you mean about being in a Winter Wonderland when it's snowing. I absolutely love paddling when the snow is falling.

Fun to read your report. A cold trip like that wouldn't be my choice, but it sounds like you did well. I smiled when I read that you forgot to pack the coffee--with a very cold forecast! Since we don't do caffeine, we don't need it for that, but imagining a morning in canoe country without my hot coffee (decaf) just isn't possible for me!

Thanks for your report.

Great report. Although I can't believe you forgot the coffee. I probably would of just turned around. Just kidding.

This was a fun report to read because I can identify with several aspects of your experience. I too watched the weather forecast that week getting colder and wetter by the minute. I ended up exiting EP32 the day you entered, and like you experienced some frigid fingers that did not excel at opening the bear vault.

Unlike you, I remembered my coffee. Unfortunately, I forgot my spork....

Glad you had a safe and enjoyable trip.

Thanks for the report, very enjoyable to read. I get anxious at the end of a trip worrying about wind and not being able to get out safely. I was on Stuart a couple falls ago and the high winds came through and snow afterwards. The next day I headed out and it was the nicest day, and I was just leaving, but also thinking about not capsizing, etc. It was really cool and looking back enjoyable, but scary at the time. My toes also get cold, and I am thinking it is a circulation issue. trying to find ways to stay warm in the cold! Thanks for bringing back the memories. May you have many more enjoyable paddles!

Great photos and details. It's not in me to brave such cold but my hats off to ya, nonetheless. About the final photo......a fierce Night's Watchman.

Nice report. Fun read. I don't love the cold but I struggle with the darkness. Also, have lots of aches as a side sleeper. Makes me tentative to go in October. Especially alone. Too much time in a tent I fear

Without the bad times, the good times wouldn't seem so good.
