I have small kids and haven't been up in a few years. My wife and I honeymooned in Quetico 8 years' ago and we took the little guy along camping and paddling a lot before the twins arrived. So it was a nice report to know trips are on the horizon. Glad you two found the time and the help to get in. Time is what we choose two do with it. Thanks for some inspiration!

Sounds like a great getaway for you. I am impressed with how many frogs you counted!

My son, 2 granddaughters, bro in law and I did the same trip July 4-9th. Going in we had the usual portage and one beaver dam pull over, and coming out the water level had dropped enough that we had 5 beaver dam pull overs.
As we were loading in the parking lot, 2 rangers came by and said they were going in to tell people about the fire restrictions.

Short and sweet getaway trip.
I camped at the same site on my first BWCA trip>>>>Hog Creek>>> Perent Lake basecamp. (2008, I think). Ironically, the water was flowing high & strong that June. Took several false turns into boggy dead ends! haha

We did that trip last year, can’t even imagine the low water levels and having to do that paddle into Perent.
