The distance from ranger station to entry point is 45 miles. Enter from Crane Lake. Note: Not the entry point to use for Trout Lake (#1)

You sound like a guy who likes to trip with others. If I were you, I'd simply do that rather than squeeze yourself into an unpreferred trip.
