Awesome Trip!!!
sounds like this is the lake to go if you want fish. i never catch many, if any, fish on my trips in the past. those long skinny lakes in that area are great for meandering. it is one of the hidden secrets, due to the portages, of the BWCA, imo.

great photos. i'm sure the grandson will be hooked just from looking at the photos.

Portage mules are clutch. A bit humbling at first but quick to get use to.

I'm glad you had a great trip! The Beloit Buccaneers shirt intrigues me. I graduated from Beloit College, class of 1975. Due to the "Beloit Plan" back then, I stayed in school during the summer terms of 1973 and 1974 and graduated with the class of 1975 instead of my originally scheduled class of 1976. I did the "free" 9th term in the Fall of 1975. Biology major.

Nice Tom. My son is a Beloit Grad - 2014, a semester earlier than what he anticipated. Chemistry. I wear many Beloit shirts - but that is a long sleeved one for sun and bugs.

Carrying the fishing poles is just as important as carrying everything else.
