Great story! Those pics of the crappies, perch and eyes remind me of the best fish dinners I ever had. What a dinner platter!

Wouldn't you just love to whip the asses of the persons that left your campsite a mess? Every year, we're finding more and more sites like that in the Q. Completely meaningless and classless.

Obergut,

I don't think I've ever been as ticked up there as I was when we saw what they did. The garbage pack on the way out was as heavy as the food pack on the way in. I know people have found much worse up there, but the "I don't give a crap" cavalier attitude towards the leave no trace idea just rubs me the wrong way.

nice report. I went into Gull off of Bald Eagle last August and I spent a hour picking up trash like you did. I believe there is a certain small group doing it on purpose making a gesture that if they leave it messy, you will not use it and it reserves the spot for them in their weird mine way of thinking. Yes I was very mad also.

nice trip report, wow that was some ugly weather. at least you caught fish so it wasn't a total loss. very nice pictures by the way. i can't believe some of the low character of some of these people that use the BWCA. people of that KIND are ruining society. where is the respect??????????? oh wait people started losing that last generation and now this generation have taken it a step farther.

Thanks for sharing the report. Those stringers of fish were making me jealous! Nice work! Two weeks after your dates the weather was amazing up there...go figure.

Looks like one of our winter backpacking trips. Our trip was not as cold, but we had more wind for sure. Thank you for posting.

Hey, Does anyone know how long the trip is from Lake one to Gabbro? We could not get Entry 33 permits, so we are taking the scouts in 2 weeks from lake one to Gabbro. Any chance we can get around the 120 rod last portage? thanks
Matt

Despite the weather, you seemed to have good fishing and good company. Sorry that you had to deal with the trash of the garbage who had the site before you.

Sit back, relax, have a home brew.
