Entry Point 33 - Little Gabbro Lake

Little Gabbro Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Kawishiwi Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 23 miles. Access is a 200-rod portage from the parking lot to Little Gabbro Lake.

I enjoyed your report (even though you went over to the dark side of being an innie convert). We did a similar loop a few weeks later than you, but starting at the North Kawishiwi EP. Lots of your pictures are familiar spots. Clear Lake was camped up when we were there too, but there were plenty of other open sites. Of course, it was something like 50 degrees and pouring at the beginning of July, so maybe everyone else abandoned their trips.

A little crowded it seems. Sounds like you had a great time.
