Nothing like some early season whitecaps to get you into shape in a hurry.

Good report. Must have been nice having that area pretty much to yourselves?

Great trip and report. Glad you didn't capsize! That's the scary thing about early-season trips . . . but so worth it.

An area that is near and dear to my heart. That view from atop Warrior Hill has to be one of the best views anywhere. I loved your report. Thanks for posting it.

Nice report and respite from preparing and filing Fed and SALT forms. You're right though, Spring is clearly the killing time for canoeing - you were smart to be vary cautious. 33 degree water is not forgiving.

quote ernie21e: "Are northerns and small mouth legal to keep and eat in april"

As kanoes said, they are legal on most of the MN/Ontario border lakes. This is a big reason we wanted to get to LLC (or some other border lake). On the inland lakes, you can only fish for panfish - catch & release for northerns, SMB, and walleye isn't even legal.

nice report and great pics, the one of Auralee on top of windy hill looked like it was a blowing pretty bad!! Isn;t it nice when the wind goes down and you been fighting it? almost like a battle is over, and you finally won.
Great Pics liked the report a lot.
