Good trip report. Taking my son on his second trip this June was the best. Next year it will be all 3 of us for our first BWCA trip together. Glad we are making memories so he can bring his kids down the future.

Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

Hey CyFish, I'm glad to see your trip report. It was fun chatting with you and your Dad. Something he said as we went our separate ways made me think he's a member of this forum. Any chance of that?

From the sound of your report, I should be glad I came out when I did. I guess I missed some pretty bad storms.

The site you got on Agnes is the first one my son and I stayed at on our first trip (for both of us) to the BW. Despite being rooty, it's very nice - open, with multiple tent pads and good trees for tarping. I spent my last two nights at the site by the portage that you were looking for. I don't know which is nicer - I think the one you had, but not by much.

I don't know who I envy more, you or your Dad. You're lucky to enjoy and appreciate each other's company. Hats off to both of you, and please pass on my regards to him.

Hey Cyfish, I'm pretty sure we ran into you on our way out too. I was with my girlfriend and I think we chatted with you and your dad a on the two portages between Nina Moose and Agnes. I'm also pretty sure we ran into Koda on our way in as well!! I think I realized that after we had talked to him :)

Great trip report. Appreciate it. I read that Long Walk book several years ago. Pretty amazing book. I like the part where they are starving for days and days and eat a snake in the middle of the Gobi Desert.

I meant to mention before that I also read the book "The Long Walk." The title is quite possibly the biggest understatement I've ever heard.

I talked to several people, but memory fades. What do/did you and your GF look like? What kind of boat?

We had the Wenonah MNII. I want to say we ran into you on the 96 rod portage just south of Agnes. We mentioned that we were taking the route up through LLC and back down through Pocket Creek, Gebe, Green and Rocky (The opposite of the trip you took with your son you mentioned). It's kind of funny because I had read your trip report for that trip but it didn't strike me until we were paddling again that it was probably you.

Ah, I remember now. I just need a little help these days.
So how was your trip? You must have gotten hammered by the storms the next few days. What sites did you camp at and what did you think of them?
Maybe you could start a new thread with a trip report?
