I would be interested in the data you have, the border route has always intrigued me, especially the info on grand portage, thanks

Who I am precedes what I do, not the other way around.

Redeye! Fishguts

Actually the trip in general is really fun. I honestly like because it is historic and its more difficult than most "float" or loop trip. All parts are well traveled. I think the most hectic part is the Pigeon river. That is only because it has no good stopping points along it. Also I'm a little concerned as to its condition after the big blow down and low water levels this season.

As to the grand portage trail. It was one of the best kept "portages" we hit. This is due to the fact that it is kept up as a hiking trail for people to hike in from the town of Grand Portage and hike back.

The biggest problem is the logistics of a one way trip. We are using 2 cars. But arranging a ride back would be better. Taxi services wanted anywhere from $250-$400. We were hoping for something about like $100-150, (heck if any one here wants to take me up on that email me). So it is cheaper for us to bring up a 2nd vehicle.

I'll take lots of picts and even some video. Then post on how it all goes. Right I'm grocery shopping. I think all of our equipment and everything else has been check once in prep.
