Vinnie - depsite all the rain and mud, it sounds like you had a good trip in a beautiful area. We're headed up to the numbered lakes in a few weeks - can't wait! Thanks for sharing your story.

Nice job!"

Not only a dead battery, the wife also ruined our camera by slipping on some rocks while lining our canoe through some rapids and getting it wet. so far she's ruined two cameras in the bwca. the next one will be water proof.

The next what will be waterproof? Camera or wife?

jk, Even with the problems, it still sounded fun.

vinnie, glad you had fun, but a bummer about the battery and camera. good thing kawishiwi lake entry is busy and sends a lot of people driving by the hog creek ep.

I looked for you crossing perent but didn't see you. I was there with my wife and 5 year old daughter from the 26th-28th. we actually only saw a couple of canoes the 3 days we were there. I saw a truck w/ Iowa plates over in the corner of the parking lot when we left. If that was your truck it must have gotten lonely over there all by itself and caused the dead battery.

What did you think of the trip down the Hog? My wife got sick of the twists and turns after about an hour of it.

Ya that was my black truck in the back corner. the trip down hog creek was great compared to the perent river. so did you and your wife and daughter have a good time, we sure did even with the problems and all them miles we did

I planned to do this trip the year I graduated from college, but the Turtle Lake wildfire that closed some of the portages along the Isabella River prevented us from entering at Hog Creek so we improvised a different route from Kawishiwi. I've visited most of the route we would have taken since but it would have been a fantastic trip. Glad you've gotten to do it.
