Entry Point 20 - Angleworm Lake

Angleworm Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Kawishiwi Ranger Station near the city of Ely, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 18 miles. Access is a 640-rod portage to Angleworm Lake.

I had the exact same feeling about the ranger that helped us get our permit at the station. Bad mood, unprofessional and not helpful in the least. Glad you had a great time though. That is the trip that I want to take next year.

Thanks for the report Friman. Your first trip went much smoother than mine in 2001. I was on a more difficult route, but I've been back almost every year since. Here's to many more BWCA trips!

Congrats on a memorable first trip. So glad it went so well; you gave a lot of nice details. We stayed at the same site on Fourtown. Yes, it was a bit of a ol' junkyard. Good rocks to lay in the sun on though. We call the steep path into Mudro "the billy goat" path.

We too had a similar experience with the ranger station, so the following year we got our permit, etc all from VNO. Best of all, it made for one less stop.
