Entry Point 1 - Trout Lake

Trout Lake entry point allows overnight paddle or motor (25 HP max). This entry point is supported by La Croix Ranger Station near the city of Cook, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 30 miles. Access from LakeVermilion via 60-rod canoe portage or 180-rod portage that allows the use of portage wheels. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

great to see your coming back even with the problems on the first trip!!
nice report,i've never gone on a group trip like that but it looks like everyone had a good time.

it's just a level trail thru the woods.

That was a really nice report and pics but see if you can fix the format. It's hard to read it the way it is now.

Enjoyed the read and photos. Sucks that you got ill up there, hopefully you recovered quickly. That storm looked pretty intense too. The boundary waters is an amazing place and can really whip up some nasty weather in a hurry. Its always awesome when the storm parts at sunset. How did the other groups fair on this trip?

Looks like a fun trip other than the sickness. I went on a group trip like yours when I was in high school and had a blast. Good to hear you will be making more trips!
